What is YouthxJobs?
Cities across the country were not prepared last summer to remotely operate their summer youth employment programs or have enough job opportunities for eligible opportunity youth. Many city programs fill up within a few hours and/or have to reject thousands from their program with no guidance or redirects on how to find other opportunities in the community or online. This critical need for more entry points led to the build of YouthxJobs to centralize a jobs marketplace specifically for youth. The goal is to help cities provide more support to those that Summer Youth Employment Programs cannot serve. In an economy that wasn’t designed for everyone to succeed, we have to remove the barriers to entry for our most vulnerable youth. Our growing skills gap stems from an opportunity gap.
YouthxJobs was built to create more access to employment opportunities for young people before they graduate high school. In partnership with Youth Employment Programs nationwide and a Youth Advisory Board, YouthxJobs helps youth connect with meaningful employment to build their skills portfolio to better prepare them for the jobs of the future.

Career navigation is difficult at any age, and the current tech stack available does not provide enough information or guidance for opportunity youth looking for their first job. YouthxJobs is ensuring youth can access jobs in their community in addition to blended learn-and-earn programs, apprenticeships, and virtual jobs that help develop skills for their future. Teens who are employed before exiting high school lead to better jobs and higher earnings later in life when compared to teens who do not find employment. YouthxJobs is making that achievable.
