Youth Employment Programs cannot support the number of youth who qualify — there aren’t enough jobs. Yet, there is also no alternative for youth once a program is full. The first job is critical and career navigation is hard without initial guidance — young people need a place to get started. YouthxJobs is offering alternative opportunities, aligned with the future of work, in one centralized place to find a job.

There are so many great organizations already doing impactful work. Youth Jobs Connect is connecting all of the stakeholders in our ecosystem -- youth, program administrators, employers, and government. With shared knowledge, innovative technology, and a centralized marketplace, we can all understand the gaps and work together to fill them. It's time we stop talking about the problems and start implementing solutions.

With one centralized place for youth to track their skills development and design the pathways that pique their interests most, our digital platform gives youth more choice and voice in what’s possible after high school.

We have a big problem. Youth employment has steadily declined since the 1990s and has failed to recover after economic downturns. Employment during teenage years directly correlates with later success — higher wages and more advanced opportunities. Without guidance and support, the problem compounds as they get older leading to long-term underemployment and unemployment. Homelessness, poverty, and under- and un-employment are all symptoms of disconnection at a younger age.
We can do something about this. Currently, there is no centralized place for young people to track and get guidance on the next steps they need to take. It’s time to jolt the system into an accessible future. Now is a critical opportunity to lay the foundation earlier; it’s time to teach how to skill-stack, navigate a career, and how to explore what’s possible post-high school, and it has to be before they graduate high school.
